Jamee Mack, LCSW

Hello, and welcome! I am a Winston-Salem transplant, by way of the Washington, D.C. metro area. Originally from Salt Lake City, I have also lived in Israel, Mexico, Brazil, and Germany. Since 2005, I have worked with adults and adolescents, both as individuals and in families. I am dedicated to supporting children, teens, and adults as they face life’s challenges and discover their strengths. Whether you or your child is dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, or struggles with relationships and boundaries, you don’t have to face it alone. My specialty is working with anxiety and related issues, especially for those who feel overwhelmed, tend to overthink, and often feel isolated. I aim to create a safe, supportive space where clients can openly share what’s really happening. I focus on understanding not just behaviors but also their underlying causes. What triggers the panic? What fuels perfectionism or emotional shutdowns? By connecting on emotional, social, and developmental levels, I can begin the journey toward helping clients feel calm, confident, and capable again.

In my practice, I take the time to understand each person’s unique story and needs. During our initial sessions, we will complete a thorough assessment and develop a personalized plan for moving forward. My approach is person-centered and flexible, often utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to explore the connections between thoughts, emotions, and actions. I also incorporate motivational interviewing, art therapy, and mindfulness practices to strengthen coping skills, emotional regulation, and strategies to break the cycle of fear and avoidance. I enjoy collaborating with parents to support their children’s growth and well-being, and I can include faith-based counseling if requested. My goal is to create a safe, compassionate environment where you feel seen, valued, and empowered to make positive changes.

In my free time, when I am not attending professional conferences or reading the latest in my field, I enjoy spending time with my family—whether it involves traveling internationally together, supporting their extracurricular activities, or having creative fun with them. My three young children constantly help me “unlearn what I have learned" by showing me, through their eyes, the incredible joys and simple pleasures of life.
