Katherine Judd, LCMHC

I am a Winston-Salem native, have over 10 years of experience working as a mental health counselor and still love what I do. I enjoy working with children (ages 10+), adolescents, and adults who want help with depression, relationship and boundary issues, life changes, stress, and self-harm. I am especially skilled at working with clients who are struggling with anxiety and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD).

The first time I meet with a client, I go through a detailed initial intake to get a good understanding of what’s going on and then come up with a plan to help. I have training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) Therapy, which is what I use most often in sessions. These types of therapy help teach clients how to recognize the connection between their thoughts and feelings, and will also challenge them to face their concerns with new behavior. I also have training in expressive arts therapy, use assessment tools to help clients track progress, and can offer faith-based counseling upon request.

When I’m not counseling, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, and gardening. In addition to therapy, I am passionate about mental health advocacy and education. Autumn is my absolute favorite season and I look forward to it all year.
